1121 extra-long grain basmati from Grow Naturally, a UK importer based in Rainham, East London. The rice is hand-harvested and aged, and the 1121 grain lengthens dramatically as it cooks, which makes it a favourite for biryani and pulao. 10kg bag.

How to cook

• On the hob: rinse and drain. Bring 2 cups of water per cup of rice to the boil, add the rice and cook for about 12 minutes. Take off the heat, rest for 10 minutes, then fluff and serve.
• Pressure cooker: rinse and drain. Use 2 cups of water per cup of rice. Cook on medium heat to the first whistle, then on low-medium for 3 more whistles. Let the pressure drop on its own and rest for 5–10 minutes before opening.

Storage: Once opened, keep in an airtight container in a cool, dry place away from sunlight.
